To believe in God's Word means to live now and later.
Believe comes from our thinking. Thinking is the use of mind, intellect and logic to judge and distinguish what is what, to form thoughts, decisions and memories. You choose to believe in God's word and you choose not to.
To help you decide whether to believe is to live now and later, I would like to write a few scriptures. Please, pay attention to the word believe in these scriptures.
Believe and Life
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." (John 3:16-18)
"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." (John 3:36)
"I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins." (John 8:24)
"Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?" (John 11:25-26)
"Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me. And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me. I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness". (John 12:44-46)
Believe and the Words of Jesus
You may ask what to believe and the answer is to believe the words of Jesus. As you read the Word of God, you will gain more understanding. Sometimes believe comes before understanding.
Look at the next verse to see how important Jesus' words are.
"And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day". (John 12:47-48 )
"Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels". (Mark 8:38)
"Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away". (Mark 13:31)
"…the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life". (John 6:63)
His words are very important and to believe in the words of Jesus is to live. If you live, you produce actions. Actions are product of your thinking and to see God your thinking must be pure. "Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God". (Matthew 5:8 )
