God's goodness to the world

When Jesus sent out his disciples, he instructed them, "And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. " (Matthew 10:7-8)

Jesus wanted the world to see the goodness of God demonstrated through his disciples. Later the saints and Apostles of the early church went about doing good just as Jesus had done. The power of God worked through the early church showing the genuine love of God for a lost world by good deeds and not words alone. After all, it's the goodness of God that leads men to repentance!

The Apostles done very well at painting a picture of God's love to lost humanity but I am afraid the picture is being greatly marred today by many professing to be disciples of Christ. Though they may stand against issues that God himself is against, like the gay lifestyle, their manner of declaring it is contrary to God! They spoil Jesus to the world.

Who wants to know a God who can only say, I hate you? Not me! Rather my experience with God has been like that of the early church and millions since; God showed me He loved me through his church and then He showed me a better way! I wish folks would quit marring the true picture of Christ, he is a good, good God.

It's a good life living for Jesus, we truly are enjoying it. Has someone spoiled Jesus to you? If so, I beg you to take another look at his word and ask him for yourself to show you his goodness.
