It would not be fair to only tell you how to have eternal life and hide from you what to do next.
As a living being you can do anything what you think of. Your mind is a producer of your thoughts and actions and determines which way you take. Your mind is a target and the spiritual attacks come to derail you from the right path, discourage you from living for God and to alter your opinion and judgment. You need to be prepared to guard it and cultivate it in a right way.
"Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God". (Matthew 5:8)
"But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: These are the things which defile a man." (Matthew 15:18-20)
"..for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks." (Matthew 12:34)
"But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned." (Matthew 12:36-37)
We are also told to "Trust in the Lord with all your heart" (Proverbs 3:5) and "A sound heart is the life of the flesh." (Proverbs 14:30)
To fully understand what it means to live for God and have eternal life, our lives must be changed and our hierarchy must be re-organized. This life time process is necessary and every person who wants to live for God must go through it.
"Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me." (Matthew 16:24)
It is an individual choice to select which priority will be first, second, third, etc... The first priority was chosen for us already: "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." (Matthew 6:33)
